Companies kick off partnership at the State Fair of Texas

(FORT WORTH, TX) ––October is Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month and Tomlyn®, a North Texas based pet health and wellness company, has partnered with DFW Rescue Me, a foster-based, volunteer-run nonprofit rescue group, to bring awareness to pet adoption and the importance of keeping a new pet healthy.

“We’ll be distributing goodie bags to new pet parents throughout October in hopes of spreading our passion for pet health,” said Tabitha Cromer, Marketing Manager for Tomlyn®.

Each goodie bag will include four of Tomlyn®’s most popular and proven products:

“It is a great opportunity to introduce new adopters to some wonderful products that will help keep their new pets happy and healthy,” said Jim Wenger, DFW Rescue Me volunteer and board member.

DFW Rescue Me expects to adopt out at least 90 dogs through its presence at the State Fair of Texas®, a process that begins with an application and ends with a home visit to ensure the dog is going to an appropriate home.

According to the ASPCA, approximately 3.9 million dogs enter shelters each year, and almost one-third of those dogs are euthanized. DFW Rescue Me’s mission is to have a positive impact on those numbers by finding permanent and loving homes for lost, abused and abandoned dogs, and has found homes for 2,024 dogs to date.

Tomlyn®and DFW Rescue Me will begin distributing goodie bags to pet parents at the State Fair on Friday, September 25.
